Spicy soup with cooked pork in it or pork Jjigae
is a unique food that you can taste only in Gwangju.
(*Jjigae is thick type of soup with various ingredients in it)

Spicy pork jjigae is a special menu only avaliable in the district.
Let me introdue 'Kkeum kku nenu daeji jjigae
* Open throughout the year.
All ingredients are from Korea.

It explains why I heard telephone rings so many times!
The restaruant is not as wide but
I saw so many people quite early in the morning.
People sometimes even have to line up to be served.
You can either choose Daeji jjigae or Daeji bulgogi.
You can choose the level of spiciness of the soup.
we were very tempted to choose Pork bulgogi which is also very beloved,
but our decision was.. Pork jjigae(at level 2.5)
*Vietnamese chilis are added in the soup from level three.*
(which is apparently a lot hotter than the2.5 . Keep in mind that!)
Most of the ingredients is fresh produced domestically!
The meat broth was cooked over 12 hours making the flavor of the soup very deep!
There is a special way explained to eat your soup to make your dish more tasteful.
(You should try it!)
These are side dishes (no charges!)
And a big bowl to have your dish with them.
(Of course with rice, too!)
You can also put some fried egg in your bowl with other ingredients
(even though I ate it alone firs..haha)
Have some radish shreds and pickled radish to reduce the hot taste a little.
Crisp bean sprouts and sweet fish cake dish are also served together. Amazing!

Here comes the main dish of the day! It tasted so healthy but spicy.

Above all... LOTS of pork meat in it!! Yay!
Are you looking for Kimchi in it?
This is not a Kimchi soup but a pork soup
(Although Kimchi jjigae looks similar if you've ever tired it before)
So, no Kimchi in it but plenty of pork meat!
It is time to follow special 'instruction' of eating the dish! A giant bowl is ready!
Shake your rice bowl and put it in your bowl.
Put a litle of Daeji soup on your rice (don't forget to put lots of meat, too!)
And next put your favorite side dishes in it!

the pork meat was very chewy!
I couldn't stop eating it!
Even though it was a bit hot as my soup was at level 2.5...
but it didn't stop me from finishing it.
What do you think it is? It is cooked rice ball (3000 won)
I had to order an extra rice ball because it was so spicy.
They will give you a vinyl glove to make them into rice balls.
Super easy to make!
It wasn't just a rice ball, but a rice ball with tuna and mayonnaise in it.
It may not look a bit ugly but it tasted...oh my god! So good!!
After having some soup, the rice ball tasted so great!

(I didn't even realize that I was so full.)

The owner recommended us to try other soup with special pork parts in it next time.
She said it would be a lot more delicious.
